DENOUNCE THE ETHNIC CLEANSING AND MURDER OF AMHARAS

Amharas and Oromos are the two largest ethnic groups (nationalities) in Ethiopia  and the ruling Tigrean Front (TPLF) has considered both as enemies and taken brutal actions against them. But in the TPLF political mentality (echoed sadly by  some foreign quarters), the Amharas are enemy no 1 and should be targeted for  all kind of brutalities ranging from ethnic cleansing, land grab, massacre and  deliberate impoverishment.

In the past two months more than 550 Amharas have been killed in the southern  regions and in Gambella – the repressive campaign continues ruthlessly. In the  past, the TPLF defined its struggle as anti Amhara and bamed al the ills of the  past regimes on Amharas as a people. For the past 23 years, the hapless people  have been forced to endure massacres of all sorts, the confiscation of their land,  the ceding of one of their fertile regions to the Sudan, forced resettlement, the  confiscation of their land and its annexation to Tigrai (the region of those in  power), imprisonment, exile, deliberate exposure to debilitating diseases, forced  sterilization and more. What has shocked many is that the brutal crimes against  Amharas has been more or less ignored by the international forces and  especially by those claiming to be concerned by human rights and democracy.

The regime commits untold crimes against the people in the Ogaden, Gambella  and other places but all this does not detract from the fact that under the rule of  the TPLF the Amharas are an especially endangered people.

Stop the Ethnic Cleansing of Amharas!
Stop all crimes against all Ethiopians!
Condemn the gross human rights Violations in Ethiopia!
