Central Committee member of the Oromo Peoples’ Democratic Organisation (OPDO), a member of the ruling Ethiopian Peoples’ Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF), Shiferaw Jarso, who succeeded Abay Tsehaye, as the new Director of the Sugar Corporation last year, is in hospital after what some sources say facing a “life threatening car accident” last week. Shifreaw also serves as an adviser to the Prime Minister.
“Even if he is relived from the Hospital, he would need a longer time to fully recover” said a source in Tor Hayloch Hospital.
Addis Abeba based Addis Fortune Newspaper reported on its Gossip section that the accident occurred two weeks ago when Shiferaw traveled to Woliyta, Southern Ethiopia.
Shiferaw was the Minister of Water Resources for a long time.
