Ahmed Endris, Land Administration Head of Dessie city, North Central Ethiopia, has been shot and killed by Muhammad Yesuf, a resident of Kebele 12, Dessie city on May 14, 2013. Muhammad disappeared after shooting the official.
It was reported that the suspect killed the official by snatching a gun from another armed person. According to people that ESAT spoke to, the deceased official has been grabbing the land of the people, forcing farmers to buy fertilizers and used to take bribes. An eyewitness told ESAT that most people were very pleased after they learned that the official was killed.
The source said the killer and the official had no personal fall out but committed the act after witnessing the suffering of the people under the hands of the official
